Siem Reap: Day trip to Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary and Great Lake
Cambodia is a land of stunning beauty and fascinating people. It is also home to one of the world’s great bird sanctuaries; experience a birding expedition like never before! At Prek Toal, enjoy the chance to see native birds in a site that has been nominated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve!
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to the port near Phnom Krom. Leave behind the pains of land for the joys of the water, hopping into a smaller mini Tara boat equipped with life jackets and expert local drivers.
On the way up to Prek Toal, you will stop by a Crocodile and Fish Farm at the floating village. Snap a few photos of the crocs or catfish before getting back on a boat for a ride through the floating village. Witness everyday life on the lake. There truly is a floating city out here, with fishermen, boat-makers, markets, schools and waving children.
Once through the floating village, begin the great journey across the lake to the Biosphere Reserve at Prek Toal. Learn about the most exciting things along your way from your guide, who will ensure you have a truly extraordinary experience.
Depart Prek Toal in the early afternoon and head back on the boat, where you can enjoy a lovely full buffet meal and drinks on the famous Queen Tara, the biggest boat on the lake, in the heart of the floating village. Then, relax and soak in the beauty of nature around you. Finish the tour and get back to town.
